A FORMER TOUR DE FORCE IS FORCED TO TOUR

When it’s no longer champagne and roses, or new movie
scripts on the mail; when all of the offers have dried up, at last you’re
succeeding to fail; when the transportation no longer stops at your door,
then a former tour de force is forced to tour.
Where once there were congratulations, there’s only
confusion and doubt. Back then you were in with the nation, now they’re
including you out. When your agent doesn’t call you up, at home anymore,
then a former tour de force is forced to tour.
It’s the only way to meet the bills that pile up thick
and wide. There’s a dollar in them there hills if you can suffer the ride,
if you can swallow your pride.
Once you were always surrounded to people to pay and to
thank, but now the one begging letter, is the one that you get from the
bank. When there’s one law for the rich and two for the poor, then a former
tour de force is forced to tour. When you can’t get no more credit, at the
store, then a former tour de force is forced to tour.
